Florist School - Class 1 - Tools of the Trade

First Things First. A baker can't bake without an oven. So let's get our tools sorted. The tools below will be needed in most of our Lessons, and are essential for your Floristry Journey! Most of these can be picked up quite cheaply from a craft shop or garden centre. - If any lesson specific tools are needed they will be pointed out at the beginning of each lesson. 1. Pearl Pins - Thin pins to keep stems and ribbon in place. 2. A Roll of Hessian - To Keep your flowers in before and after. 3. A Roll of Ribbon - A decorative ribbon to finish off your arrangements and tie stems. 4. Stem Tape - For keeping stems together in small arrangements. 5. Secateurs - For trimming stems. 6. Scissors - For trimming ribbon and hessian. 7. String - For tying stems and holding arrangements together. 8. Floristry Wire - For Wiring Flowers & Foliage in small arrangements like Buttonholes. You can pick up the above items for relatively cheap by clicking the links which will take you through to Amazon. I found them all for less than £20.00 which will give you enough for all of our lessons this year! I have also been asked to include two other essentials our Florist couldn't live without. 1. A Dustpan And Brush - You will make mess, we promise, this will come in handy. 2. A Bucket of Water - To Keep your flowers in before and after. ---------- Of Course if you’d rather learn from the best and get the lesson straight from us, you can now…

Just wanted to say thank you so much for the lovely bouquet of flowers that you sent to my daughter today. She's been shielding since February so these made her day. She was delighted that there were no lilies in the flowers as she suffers with hayfever. Thank you - Helen P

Just to say a lovely thank you for the beautiful arrangement of flowers for the funeral sheaf I ordered for my fathers funeral. He was 91 and always interested in the environment and wildflowers. The arrangement was just perfect. Many thanks once again - Magda B

My family arranged for you to deliver flowers for my birthday last Monday and I have to say that they are the best flowers I have ever received! After a week they are still looking amazing and are likely to do so for several days yet. Thank you very much! - Mary B
