As part of the Hereford Cathedral Festival of Flowers
The Great British Florist is really pleased to bring Gilbert to town :) into The Old Market.
The Theme of this year's festival is "As the World Turns..." Our floral display has been put together to remind us of the roots of the new shopping centre which was developed on the original market. It describes the contrast between old and new, rural and city, and hopefully reminds us that we don't need to be perfect to be wonderful...
Gilbert the Little Grey Fergie has been kindly loaned to us by Nigel and is often still found working for Joe's Logs. He was very pleased that as a British Build himself that he has been decorated completely in British Grown Flowers. The wiggly path of boots and wellies symbolises all the farmers and workers that have driven Gilbert over his lifetime... as the World turns...
Gilbert all dressed and on show! He was the center of attention and many people were amazed to hear that he still works and is used to haul logs.
A pair of beautiful boot arrangements and Jan the flower getting down and dirty with some wildflowers!
Gilbert's flowery cheek, boots on boots of flowers and Heather arranging some flowers in a kindly donated Ski Boot.
Heather adding some facial foliage to Gilbert and one of our wheel arrangements.
Many thanks to Old Market Hereford
for commissioning this project.
Make sure you get to the Old Market shopping precinct in Hereford
to see Gilbert, he'll be there until Sunday and please do visit Hereford Cathedral
to see the full exhibition which takes place between Thursday 4th and Sunday 7th September 2014.
