The Student Award Ceremony at the Royal National College for the Blind
This November we were approached by the Royal National College for the Blind to help with a project they had for their Student Award Ceremony on the 11th November; for this fantastic event they wanted students to create beautiful floral displays to dress the space they were having the award ceremony in. We absolutely jumped at the chance to be involved with such a prestigious school and to work with their students!
We arranged for two students to attend our flower school at the Robert Owen Academy for a private workshop. We were given a brief of creating two pedestal arrangements and three thank you posies to be displayed and awarded during the ceremony, and for these arrangements to be bright and beautiful and of course – seasonal!
Kim and Emma arrived bright and early at our flower school and we all had a lovely chat over some cups of tea and biscuits; we spoke about the Great British Florist, their school and studies and what they were looking forward to most with working with flowers. After we had settled in and got to know each other we decided to get cracking on creating some flowery masterpieces!
Kim and Emma were incredibly attentive and hard working and really created beautiful pieces of work (so much so we felt our jobs may be at risk!). By the end of the workshop two pedestals and three posies had been put together with skill and confidence and we were all very proud of what they produced. We took lots of photos during the workshop and I think we can all agree what naturals these young women were!
