To celebrate British Flowers week
we asked our customers to nominate someone to receive a wonderful British Flower Posy! We wanted them to nominate someone special who really deserves a treat, never has time for themselves or has overcome some amazing difficulties.
Introducing Sue Cutter - the winner of a Random Act of Floweriness!
We chose Sue because we understand how important it is to have the people you love around you on your wedding day!
Sue was nominated by her friend Rebecca who said; "Last June I flew home to the UK for my best friend's wedding, but sadly the wedding had to be cancelled because the groom's mother was diagnosed with cancer on the day of the hen party and tragically passed away three weeks later, just one week before the wedding. I was due to be a bridesmaid, but there was unfortunately no way that I could afford to fly home again so soon once the wedding was rescheduled for May this year. Both my friend and I were devastated that I wouldn't be able to be there for her on her big day, but Sue and her husband Dave very generously offered to pay for my flight home. Without their generosity, I would have missed out on one of the most important moments in my best friend's life. Thanks to them I was able to spend the week before the wedding with Rachel, making marshmallow wedding favours, arranging flowers in jam jars and creating table decorations with ivy. It was such a special week, a real English wedding in the English countryside, and I am so grateful to them for helping me to be part of it. I would love for Sue to receive the flowers, as just a small way of saying a very BIG thank you. Thank you Rebecca"
When we revealed Rebecca's nomination to Sue and told her she'd won Sue commented; "I write to thank you for my beautiful posy of flowers which I received as a wonderful and unexpected surprise. Rebecca, one of my daughters bridesmaids nominated me for these and I have thanked her for her kind thoughts. Having lost two close family members on both the bride and grooms side and due to the death of the grooms mother 1 week prior to the original wedding, it wouldn't be to difficult to imagine the traumatic year that we have all had. The wedding was scheduled for the 8th of May this year and was a tremendous success. The flowers have lasted well and just over a week later they continue to hold their own and remain on show for all to see. Once again, thank you so much for making something so special. "
Thanks to all of the people who nominated someone to win a Random Act of Kindness - we were inundated with truly amazing stories and people who deserve to have their day brightened, unfortunately we only have 10 posies to send - but we really appreciate the time taken to get involved and nominate someone.
Check back over the upcoming weeks to see the remaining winners!
