So, as we are heading well and truly into the Wedding Fayre season I thought I would give you a little run down of all the events, Fayres, shows and doooooos that we are attending over the coming weeks. Be sure to come along and see us for an elderflower pressé and a lovely little chat.
This year already we have attended:
The wonderful Decidedly Different Vintage Wedding Fair at Exeter Castle. This Fayre was set in the Beautiful Exeter Castle up a little cobbled street just of the main Exeter High Street. We were lucky to have our stand in the Ballroom, which had the most amazing Disco Ball hanging from the ceiling.
Despite the dreadful weather, all the gorgeous brides traipsed through the mud and wind and all seemed to have the most wonderful time! Jan and myself set up our stand and we shared the flower crown throughout the day so we both had the chance to look like a flower fairy. We had a photo done with the Fabulous Matt Stockman Photography Photo Booth, which was SUCH FUN! The Fayre itself was really lovely and true to word – Decidedly Different and so inspiring.
We have also attended the wonderfully classic Burton Court Wedding Fayre. With its roaring fires and rich tapestry’s and peaceful setting, it really is, such a beautiful venue. Based in Herefordshire, not far at all from the Great British Florist, it was a wonderful place to meet prospective brides. However it was also such a good opportunity to meet all the fantastic wedding suppliers from Hereford! There really is such a range of suppliers, right here on the doorstep.
Now from here on out we have such a range of Fayres that we are attending. Beginning with the first in the series of The Vintage Wedding Fayres with the Gorgeous Hayley Turner on Sunday 2nd February at The Shirehall in Hereford from 11am to 4pm. This fayre is really great and I think 700 people came through the doors last time, which is an incredible number! I, for one, am really looking forward to it and can’t wait to see everyone!
Next up, Heather, San and I will be venturing across this wonderful land to Kent, specifically the Glow Exhibition Centre in Bluewater for, 'The Wedding Fair'. We are super excited about this one. Not only because it seems like a little holiday but it also is a great chance to meet all the lovely brides in that area of the country! This is running from Friday 7th February to Sunday 9th February from 10 ‘til 5pm. Now there is another reason why we are so excited about this one but keep your eyes on the Great British Florist blog over the next couple of days and you will find out why….
Now from this weekend to the next we have the most lovefilled day of the year. Ensure you have a look at the website to see what loveliness we have in store for Valentines Day (psst, this is YOUR chance to look like a flower fairy for the day!)
After we’ve come down from Cupids Cloud we are straight off to the next Fayre. On 16th February 2014 we are attending two on the same day. Starting with another fantabulous day put on by the Vintage Wedding Fayre Team held in the Pittville Pump Room in Cheltenham. Lisa will be there from 9am onwards to offer up all her flowery, weddingy knowledge and be able to answer any questions you may have. I, however, will be at the Ellis Wedding Fayre at Penyard House in Ross-on-Wye from 11am to 4pm. Do feel free to come and see us at either of these fab venues!
The following weekend, we are actually having a weekend off but fear not, we are straight over to Lyonshall in Hereford for the Burgoynes Wedding Fayre. Burgoynes, a marquee company, put on the Fayre every year and I hear it is fantastic. I am very looking forward to going, not only because I love marquees, but also because our flowers look brilliant in them with the natural lighting. It spans the two days and is set in a humongous marquee, which provides a great vision for anyone thinking of choosing a marquee as a potential venue. It’s a two day show, and I will be there from 10am onwards on each day so come and say HI!
Now this same weekend, Lisa will be heading over to the Guildhall in Worcester. We attended the Autumn Fayre there and it really was great. The grandeur of the building makes you feel as though you’ve walked back in time and then as you walk in you are hit with the fuzzy tones of a gramophone playing Glen Miller in the background and the flash of colour from fifties wedding frock. It really is wonderful and we are so excited to be able to go back again!
Then to finish off the season, we are going over to the beautiful Ludlow Castle to exhibit our stand there. Ludlow Castle is one of those places that makes you feel really proud of our British Heritage and what with being once a Royal home, the venue is fit for a Queen (and King). We will be attending the Ludlow Castle Wedding Fayre on 23rd March 2014 from 11am.
And that’s it! The wedding Fayres are over for the spring season. Just in time for Mothers day too!
So, as I said, please be sure to come and say hi, we would love to meet you. It will always be either Lisa or myself attending with the stand and you can’t miss us. We have the most beautiful engaging pictures of brides, a gazillion flowers, beautiful flower crowns, enough elderflower pressé to sink a ship and big friendly smiles!
