Wedding trends 2015/2016

The cardinal rule when planning a wedding is, of course, to create a wedding you and your partner love, trends aside. But it’s still fun to take a look at what’s new. Here at Great British Florist HQ, we like to have our finger on the pulse. Prepare to drool ladies and gents as we bring you our lowdown on must have styles that are certain to wow guests and make your wedding perfectly bang on trend.
Warm metallics
While silver and gold are classic favourites, copper is having a moment! Copper will be popping up everywhere, from table décor to invitations. A simple way to incorporate it into your wedding is by spray painting recycled tins to use as vases which is a new take on the industrial style.

Hanging floral installations are a creative way to make your décor unique and eye catching. Take advantage of this style by using hanging flower pieces as a background for photos. Suspended florals over tables create a more intimate atmosphere for your guests, incorporating ferns, fairy lights and trailing ivy to add a romantic touch.

Think rustic, leafy bouquets or green table garlands-incorporating succulents and aromatic herbs like rosemary and mint. Try adding berries, fruit, acorns and twigs for added texture. Our free-spirited Great British Florist wild-flower arrangements epitomise this laid back trend.

Bohemian This trend is showing no signs of fading away, so take this style to the next level by using feathers galore, antlers, wood slices, open-sided tipis and fur throws. These elements are perfectly complimented by bleached out colours or a neutral colour palette of coffee and cream.

Just wanted to say thank you so much for the lovely bouquet of flowers that you sent to my daughter today. She's been shielding since February so these made her day. She was delighted that there were no lilies in the flowers as she suffers with hayfever. Thank you - Helen P

Just to say a lovely thank you for the beautiful arrangement of flowers for the funeral sheaf I ordered for my fathers funeral. He was 91 and always interested in the environment and wildflowers. The arrangement was just perfect. Many thanks once again - Magda B

My family arranged for you to deliver flowers for my birthday last Monday and I have to say that they are the best flowers I have ever received! After a week they are still looking amazing and are likely to do so for several days yet. Thank you very much! - Mary B
