When thinking of rustic barn weddings one venue in particular springs to our minds – one of our favorites, Lyde Court. It can cater for weddings and parties with numbers of an intimate 25 up to a grand 250 comfortably and even has options for you to stay the night including a Bridal Suite and a Bunkhouse - even camping, very cool! Our garden style British flowers really suit the venue and we have supplied flowers many, many times for all sorts of weddings and events at and were thrilled when they contacted us with regards to a very special project. Karen, Gary, and the rest of the fab Lyde Court team wanted an extravagant centerpiece that could be suspended from the roof of the beautiful Great Barn – a real show stopper! The brief was simple and in keeping with the space and feel of Lyde – natural, relaxed with a little bit of quirk. We came up with the idea to create a chandelier in the style of suspended rings, created using a huge array of materials – dried flowers, ferns, foliage, moss, and feathers to name a few! To add that extra special touch we also disguised test tubes adorned with moss and suspended with fishing wire hanging from the arrangeemnt, creating the illusion of floating vessels that can be customised and filled with items to match any wedding or event theme – from dried or fresh flowers to feathers – your imagination is the limit! Check out some of the photos from when Alex and Heather delivered and installed the rings – tracking the journey from transporting it in the new GBF truck to the final stage of lifting it up on the pulley in the barn.
