Constance Spry Inspired Bouquets

These wonderful arrangements are wild, sprawling and inspired by the work of Constance Spry, In 1929 Spry caused a sensation, and became a household name, with her unorthodox displays and their unlikely ingredients. Spry’s alternative attitude to decoration broke the mold of floristry forever. Her writing encouraged garden foraging – using whatever you could find to create amazing arrangements from. Her 1957 book "A Millionaire for a Few Pence" explained how you could improve the quality of people’s daily lives with just a few flowers and a little imagination. Spry used kale leaves with red roses in boutique windows and introduced the use of jam jars as vessels and the joy of a single-stem in a vase.
