Mother's Day

DELIVERY for MOTHERS DAY - We have made this simple - just select the specific option at the checkout and we will deliver on Sunday 31st March. If you want delivery on an alternative date then please use the normal options. Please Note: Unfortunately we can only deliver to a single address from each order - if you wish to send to two different people you must complete two different orders and pay shipping twice.

We hope your Mum will love her Flowers as much as we do.

Mothering Sunday in the UK is always the fourth Sunday in Lent. It was traditionally also known as Refreshment Sunday or Pudding Pie Sunday as it was a day in Lent when the fasting rules were relaxed. When young girls and boys were in service - think Downton Abbey.... they were allowed one day to visit their family - and this day was usually Mothering Sunday. The tradition of sending flowers came from this, as well as often they were allowed to take flowers from the conservatory or the garden as a gift.

Unlike many other events that have a tendency to be over-commercialised, Mothering Sunday provides a lovely excuse to send your Mum some fresh seasonal flowers to thank her for everything she has done for you. By the way, if you are into tradition, it is also the day you should bake your Simnel cake, no eating it though, as by the rules of Lent you need to keep it until Easter to eat.
