Hello there!

Lovely to welcome you to The Great British Florist.
We started this idea in 2013 with a launch at our local MINI showroom with an idea of making choosing flowers much easier and truly delightful.

It all came about from Heather ordering flowers for her Aunty and getting into a long and drawn out conversation with the florist in terms of type of flower, colours, and price… So much so she nearly gave up (sorry Aunty!)

This hit a chord as farmers. In our view human’s don’t need to worry about colour’s clashing or how big the lilies are and whether they “go” with the roses.

We were well aware that Mother Nature always knows best… Flowers don’t need to be colour co-ordinating or matching… but they do need to be grown with thought for planet and people as well as profit.

UK flower farms have been wiped out by cheap imports - often
flown in from half way around the World where pesticide legislation and workers rights are far different to what we have here.

To that end The Great British Florist was born with the aim of reducing flower miles and waste (we use all the flowers that come into our floristry) and forgetting formal floral design.

Our flowers are designed by Mother Nature and hand-tied by our fabulous florists here on the farm.

We’re known for our scented, seasonal flowers - that simply don’t cost the Earth.

Our stems are grown here on our farm and brought in daily from our network of local flower farmers. We love to use whatever comes in on the day… This means that the recipient receives a unique arrangement, that everything is used… and we never get bored of seeing what is coming through the door each morning.

Being able to continue supplying the Great British Florist with our flowers during lockdown has meant that we can continue growing our flowers and keep on our workers during a very uncertain time. We are very grateful for your support to our business in these challenging times!

The Great British Florist gave us an outlet to supply our flowers when all our usual outlets were completely closed. This meant many of our flowers weren’t going to waste. It’s been a real help in these difficult times, and it’s been great to know that all of the flowers are British in the GBF bouquets.

Luckily for us, we have traded with Heather / The Great British florist for many years. Heather is a fantastic regular bulk buyer of British flowers. I was quite impressed that they were so busy and very thankful.

Just wanted to say thank you so much for the lovely bouquet of flowers that you sent to my daughter today. She's been shielding since February so these made her day. She was delighted that there were no lilies in the flowers as she suffers with hayfever. Thank you - Helen P

Just to say a lovely thank you for the beautiful arrangement of flowers for the funeral sheaf I ordered for my fathers funeral. He was 91 and always interested in the environment and wildflowers. The arrangement was just perfect. Many thanks once again - Magda B

My family arranged for you to deliver flowers for my birthday last Monday and I have to say that they are the best flowers I have ever received! After a week they are still looking amazing and are likely to do so for several days yet. Thank you very much! - Mary B
